Why Accidental Protection?

When was the last time you had a heart attack or had cancer? Probably have not had them. When was the last time you bumped your elbow, hit your shin, had a fall? We are more apt to have an accident than a major illness in our life. Don't get me wrong, it is possible to have that major illness, but face it, we can be driving very safe but that other person can run all over us! Accidental plans protect when the best laid plans go wrong, when we least expect it and slip on the ice. So you have good health insurance? You have a deductible with your plan. Most accidental plans have little or no deductible and pay in addition to your regular health insurance. You see one way to lower your health insurance premium is to have a high deductible of say $2,500.00 Then offset that with low cost supplemental accidental plans or critical illness insurance. These types plans pick up the higher deductible. By raising your deductible you may save $75-$100 a month. Then obtaining the accidental plans, you may pay only $50-$60 a month. So you have a nice savings on your health insurance premiums. Keep in mind that most accidental plans are just that, plans, not actually insurance. They do not coordinate benefits with any doctor or hospital. They pay benefits directly to you upon submitted claims. Most insurance companies are now using these types plans along with other supplemental plans to help people lower their heath insurance costs and actually give the people a better overall coverage. Get with your insurance agent and ask him if you can "bundle" your insurance with supplemental plans and save money. Mac_Caldwell
